This is a graduate program that immerses you in high level original research and rigorous scientific learning for a full doctorate at CIIMAR. In BYTPhD program you will have the opportunity to produce innovative research within the scientific areas of CIIMAR associated with seven PhD programs from University of Porto: (1) Marine Biotechnology and Aquaculture, (2) Toxicology and Environmental Contamination, (3) Animal Science, (4) Aquatic Sciences, (5) Biology, (6) Environmental and Sciences Technology, (7) Civil Engineer. Selected candidates will work in an excellent scientific environment together with high qualified CIIMAR research teams in the areas of marine biotechnology, global changes and ecosystem services, conservation, aquaculture and nutrition. During your research activities you will have access to CIIMAR well-equipped facilities for research, innovation, technology transfer, training, education and services with a complementary network of technology platforms. You will be also embedded in stimulating postgraduate activities that enhance scientific excellence, science communication, entrepreneurship and labour insertion.

Requirements
National and foreign citizens holding a master’s or bachelor’s degree from national or foreign universities in the areas of life sciences, environmental sciences and engineering.

Funding
Selected students will be awarded a € 1064 monthly scholarship.
Selection
Students will be selected based on the academic and scientific curriculum, work plan and motivation letter according to the criteria published in the call.
